World’s Cheapest Smartphone is here – Thanks to Modi Government

The Defence Minister of India, Shri Manohar Parrikar has launched the world’s cheapest smartphone “Freedom 251” today. Freedom 251, as its name suggests, is priced at Rs. 251. Yes you heard it right; Rs. 251 only. This affordable yet power packed smartphone is manufactured by an Indian company, Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd.

The launch of this surprisingly inexpensive phone is in line with our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s flagship schemes of “Make in India” and “Digital India”. Ringing Bells says that the phone has been developed with “immense support from the Indian government and it reflects the PM’s vision of “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story.”

The low price and qualitative features are surely going to make the phone a quick favourite of the poor and needy people of India who otherwise would not have been able to afford a Smartphone.

The phone comes with a series of pre-installed apps that make the phone more useful and handy for our “aam aadmi”. The apps include Women Safety, Swachh Bharatm, Fisherman, Farmer, Medical Help, Google Play, Whatsapp, Facebook and Youtube among others.

Additional benefits offered by the company include 1 year warranty (which includes 12 months warranty for the Host Unit, 6 months for the Battery and Charger and 3 months for the Earphone). The company claims to have a widespread network of 650 service centres across India.
