Finally wait was over. Sakhshi Malik has made India proud by winning its 1st medal in Rio Olympics 2016.
But it was not an easy success. It was a superb display of grit and attitude.
At one point Sakshi was trailing behind 0-5 against Kyrgyzstan’s Aisuluu Tynybekova. But she kept her calm and with her determination, she finally defeated her opponent by 8-5.
It was a dream came true for a small village girl who never knew what an Olympic was. She chooses sports just to fly in aeroplane.
This win brought smile on the faces of billions of fellow Indians who were desperately waiting for a medal. We Indian were disappointed seeing our champions fighting their heart out and loosing just before winning a medal. It has broken our heart.
Yet again it was women power that brought smile on the faces of whole country on auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan, a Hindu festival where brother promises to help her sister in every situation.
