“Of Course I had Free Sex” – Kavita Krishnan and Her Mom Silenced All

One of the cheapest trick played by the world to keep women down is to stop her from expression herself. Yesterday, a women who can either be called as a feisty feminist or just someone who does not fear voicing her opinions silenced the world by her open expression about Sex. It was Kavita Krishnan, the secretary of the CPI (ML) or the All India Progressive Women’s Association made her stand for the rights of women.

Kavita is a well known face on the television or the social media where we usually see her voicing slogans under the sun or speaking out her mind on the digital media for a cause. There is one such Facebook page called the “The Spoilt Modern Indian Women”. The page usually showcases events and occurences of rape, patriarchy, misogyny, oppressions, male privileges etc. Here in a TV debate the author tried pulling the image of the lady in conversation down. She was called to be the ” Naxalite who had free sex”

The idea behind such a comment by the author was to highlight how the sexuality of the women becomes the primary casualty in any situation. So, when challenged in the social media platform Kavita voiced back. She was asked whether her mother has had free sex.

The stinging reply simply turned all tables down. Kavita did give a stern reply by saying that we all have it free because if it is not free it is not sex, it is rape. And so did all our mothers.

The world went all silent and blank when Kavita Krishnan’s mother said  this –

I am Kavita’s mother. Of course I had free sex. I should jolly well hope so! As and when I wanted, with the person I wanted. And I fight for every woman and man to have sex according to their consent. Never unfree, never forced.

No matter what some sections of the society thinks, there are many who are glad and have showered the mother daughter duo  with likes, appreciations and positive remarks.
