Controversy doesn’t seem to leave Ae Dil Hai Mushkil or ADHM even after the release of the movie.

Earlier, the film and its director Karan Johar were in the eyes of the storm of the certain political parties for including a Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the movie.

But now the film has triggered one more serious controversy by showing the iconic singer Md. Rafi in bad light.

Must Watch Scariest Movies for Halloween Day

The film has a dialogue in which actress Anushka Sharma tells Ranbir Kapoor that “Mohammad Rafi gaate Kam, rote zyada the”, which literally means in English “Rafi sang less cried more”. Once the dialogue went viral on social media, Rafi fans instantly targeted the movie and its director for the objectionable dialogue.

Sonu Nigam Questioned ADHM Controversial Dialogue

It all started with singer Sonu Nigam’s tweet who just wanted to know if there was any objectionable dialogue in the film hurled at the late singer.

He tweeted earlier today;

Immediately, the social media got flooded with several tweets confirming the presence of such a dialogue in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

However, many fans also showed solidarity with the film arguing that the dialogue was in context of a certain scene and not intended to disgrace the late singer.

Shahid Rafi Strongly Criticized Karan Johar

Shahid Rafi, the son of legendary singer Mohammad Rafi, lambasted at Karan Johar for including such a crass dialogue in the film. Junior Rafi opined that such dialogue was not necessary for the sequence of the movie.

WHILE WRITING THIS DIALOGUE, DIDN’T THEY REALISE WHO THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT? MOHAMMED RAFI IS A VERSATILE LEGENDARY SINGER AND I AM NOT SAYING THIS JUST BECAUSE HE IS MY FATHER. EVEN AFTER 36 YEARS OF HIS PASSING AWAY, MY FATHER’S FAN FOLLOWING IS FAR MORE THAN MANY OTHER SINGERS OF OUR INDUSTRY.”

He considered it as an insult to his father.

AFTER WATCHING THIS, I DOUBT IF HE (KARAN) HAS GOT ANY SENSE ABOUT WHAT HE IS DOING. IT’S AN INSULT TO MY FATHER. I AM ASHAMED AND DIDN’T EXPECT THIS FROM KARAN JOHAR. SHAYAD SHAHURAT SAR ZYADA CHAD GAYA HAI. JAB SHAHURAT ZYADA CHADH JAATA HAI, LOG MOOH PE TAREEF KARTE HAI AUR PEETH PEECHE THOOH THOOH KARTE HAI.”

According to Sources, Shahid is now ready to talk to CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani over the alleged insulting dialogue on his father in ADHM.

I HAVE RECEIVED SO MANY MESSAGES FROM FANS ASKING ME TO TAKE ACTION. THIS LINE COULD HAVE BEEN CENSORED. THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE. SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE WATCHED THE FILM. I DONT THINK HE IS GOING TO EDIT THAT PART. ALL I EXPECT AN APOLOGY LETTER FROM KARAN NOW”.

Well, to be honest, no sane person can tolerate such an insulting remark against our beloved legendary singer. Though director and creative team have full discretion on what to show and what not to show in a film, but showing complete disregard to such an iconic singer as Rafi was completely uncalled for.

It would be better for the director to seek an apology in this regard at the earliest.
